Kelantan Trip 2010

The class trip to Kelantan was awesome! Not only did i get to spend time with my friends, and lecturer, i got to explore malaysia's finest traditional art and culture. The first thing that comes into my head about Kelantan is just some people living in a rural area, but when i got there, it was more than that. Yes its alot of rural people but, the way of living is more exciting and some what wilder than KL.
The first night we watched a main putri performance. Main putri is a healing ritual, healing in terms of the spirit not health. Basically a a tok putri will do a stylized movement and chants to heal a patient. A patient may suffer from lots of things such as the lost of angin and semangat, or even a daily life probelms. A main putri is performed for 4 hours a night and it may go on for 3 nights.
The second night we watched a wayang kulit performance ( Shadow Puppetery) . It is perfomed by a dalang, a dalang is a person who encapsulates a a story from life and performs them using puppets. Amazingly, the dalang that performed for us played 7 different characters at once. This dalang has been doing shadow puppetry for 30 years, and started at the age of 16.

For me the main putri performance is more intense than the wayng kulit because there were certain parts that had fast paced movements and heavy music. The serunai gives the intensity of the mood. Wayang kulit however is more relaxing as is is perfomed behind a white sheet/cloth. Usually a wayang kulit story consist of tales like the ramayana, but that night, the story was a bit different as the dalang add in some comical element.
But this trip was too short and im really looking forward for the next one, if there is a next one. So far i find kelantan very interesting and its a good getaway place from the city. I urge all of you to visit kelantan for a change, get out of your comfort zone and be adventerous.

PROJECT:DeClassified

PROJECT: DeClassified is a devised performance created by the March '09 intake with the help of their lecturers over a period of 8 weeks. The devised performance consists of elements such as the newspaper's classified ads, the Over Head Projector, music, and many more. We spent a lot of time researching every detail of every ad and also exploring and incorporating it into movements and images. We voted on using “The Star” classifieds, 27 January, 2010, mainly because it was the most updated at the time of our research. We finally chose several interesting ads and turned them into performances through research like calling the sellers/employers. All our scripts are based on the real life interviews. Our explorations and process with the classified ads have helped us understand and identify the kind of society living in the Klang Valley. And through these performances we aim to show the audience how complex, interesting and diverse the truth and beauty of society is taken for granted in the daily classified ads.

East-Cost Holiday, Chinese new year 2010

Hey there people, its been a while since my last post and i have to say, i ran out of stories and will to write my blog untill a recent memorable holiday which is the chinese new year. I had a one week break of college. Me and my family went on a trip to kuantan and terengganu. Kuantan is my hometown (kampong), and this would we my first trip to terengganu cause iv never been there. A few of my relatives are there.
We went to kuantan first for 2 days of the 5 day trip. We stayed at Swiss-Garden Resort, its a very lovely, elegant and peaceful resort. Me and my family went to the beach, swim in the pool, etc. I also visited my grandparents at their new home (which is very far from town). The reason they moved out is because the previous house was broken in-to many times.
The next day, we travelled to Kuala Terengganu and stayed there for 3 days. Before we got there, we stopped by a resort called Awana Kijal golf resort. That place caught my dad's attention because its a paradise heaven for golfers. He then immediately called my uncle and told him about the place and soon after he booked a golf set for them to play on the last day. Anyway back to terengganu, when we first reached there, we visited my cousin's place, and the house is like a mansion.
I can assume that he is one of the very few rich people living in a rural place. The fun was just about to get started, firstly with the nightlife, the restaurants there are amazing not just in terms of the food, but also the location of the restaurant, which is by the beach side.Amazing. The people there are much friendlier than KL people ( no offense). Terengganu is famous for its clothing design which is the batik. We visited alot of batik shops, well actually my parents did, i just tag along, and i have to admit, the designs were fasinating and it seems original in terms of their patterns.
We had a chance to visit the batik 'factory' called Noor Arfa. This is where they made batik from A-Z and we even get to see a bit of demonstration of batik making. My dad even got a couple of batik shirts for himself, even my mom didnt get one, surprising. We also had a chance to visit the famous masjid kristal (Crystal Mosque). It is located in the middle of the river and we had a cruise tour around the river. It is said that the mosque is made out of steel, concrite and crystal (the top part atleast). The Crystal shines at night and its a beautiful scene.
The east-cost trip ended at Awana Kijal wherby my dad and uncle stayed there just to play golf, we were supposedly to go back earlier. It was not so bad, the place was very nice, big, and lots of outdoor activity. The last few days was just a relaxing time for me as i get to explore the beach and the culture of terengganu.

Welcome 2010!!

I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year, hope everyone had a great 2009. Whatever mistakes or wrong doings that we've done, we just have to learn from it and move on and focus on the future. A new year means new changes within yourself and the situation around us. This year will be a blast for football fans as the 2010 world cup is coming up! Some of you might have alot of new years resolution, some of you may not, but so far i only have 3:
1. Never commit to anything that you cant cope with
2. Try to keep my hair for as long as i can
3. Finish all assignments on time to avoid headaches and heartaches.

So stay safe, and have a good year ahead. CHEERS!!!!

Holiday In Korea (18.12.09-23.12.09)

First of all i have to say, that this holiday trip is the best holiday i've ever had. Firstly its because i've never been to Korea, secondly, i enjoyed the weather there, -12 degrees winter time. I could just walk outside along the side road for hours without feeling tired and without breaking any sweat where as in Malaysia, i always sweat. It was a 6 days 4 nights trip, with 6 groups of family members.
Coincidently there was one family, apart from my cousin's family, who was from Kota Kemuning (the place where i live) was there too. I know one of the kid from the family, but i didnt know they were on the trip until i got to the airport and met them. Anyway, it was a 6 hours flight from KLIA to Inchion Airpot in Korea. The first thing i did when i landed was putting on my jacket and went outside to feel the cold weather, and it was really nice.

The first day was just basically getting to know each other, we introduced ourselves in the on the way to Seoul City. We had lunch at the Korean war museum, the restaurant was purposely located inside the museum for tourist to check it out. It was big, they had planes and guns exhibited there and some statues and what not. Shortly after that, we all went to the Blue House ( in USA it's white house), but we didnt exactly go in the house we just visited the park outside the Blue house.
The second day we went shopping in Myondong, the place is sort of like Bukit Bintang and the shopping malls are similar to Pavillion, Mid Valley, Etc. The shopping time was short because after that, we got out of the city and went to the Phoenix Ski Resort. I have to say, this was the highlight of the vacation, for the first time in 7 years, i had witnessed snow. It was a fun experienced. We went skiing for 3 hours from 8pm- 10 pm. Skiing is not as easy as i thought, it was very tiring and difficult to control and my legs were in pain. After a while i got use to it, but i still wasn't satisfied, because the timing was to short.

Then we visited some so call historic places in terms of film on the third day. The tour guide took us to 2 different shooting locations for the Winter Sonata series. The first was a market, i forgot the name of it. It's a simple market like petaling street, but the place was much better, cleaner and more lively. The second location was the Naminara Island, and boy i tell you, its a suitable place to have wedding, honeymoon and other romantic stuff because the Island was just so beautiful. No wonder Winter Sonata is a hit series there.
One thing that Korea is famous for is the food, in Malaysia the popular food is Nasi Lemak, in Korea the most popular food is KIMCHI. The tour Guide took us to a kimchi factory ( i couldn't remember which day), there we learn how to make kimchi, the easy way ofcourse. All we had to do was to put apply kimchi sauce onto a cut out cabbage and after that we ate some kimchi. We also tried on some Korean traditional clothes, im not sure what's it called but i think its something like kimono.
Eating here as a muslim was not that difficult as there are alot of  Pakistan and Moroccan restaurant in the middle of Seoul city. The restaurants are located around the one and only Mosque in Seoul. The setting of the place is like amsterdam and it goes uphill. Surprisingly, i came across a shop that sells shisha pipes. One thing that was an inconvenience was the communication, not many local people there could speak English, but luckily we had a girl (one of our tour guides) who could speak Korean, and she's a Malaysian and she use to study there.
All in all, i can say that this is the best holiday vacation iv ever had, and im glad to be there and i really like the weather there, its something that you cant get in Malaysia. I enjoyed spending time with my family and i think this was the only time i get to enjoy my holiday, and after this is back to college and stuff. This is the one place where i shall visit again. Even though the trip was tiring but i had loads of fun.

EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!

3rd of december 2009 was the last day of my exam of the 2nd semester. After a long and hectic semester of classes and assignments, im finally free. Technically my exams were ongoing as i had to do video project, acting a scene from the script the crucible and creating a film script. So all i and my classmates had to do was to shoot, rehearse and write those respective assignments and just hand it/show it during the exam day.
Later at night the same day, me and my friends went to mos to celebrate. There was quite a number of us, and new comers in clubbing such as Gregory, Ju Er, Jewel and kevin was present. It was a memorable nite, we all had have, despite the earlier problems some of us had. Now, im looking forward for my holiday trip to korea.

Acoustic Night At Mardigras One Utama - 26.11.09

Hey all, its been a while since i post anything here, maybe its cause of exams and stuff. Im in the midst of my final and i'm all stressed out. What better way to release stress by going out with your friends. Once again two of my classmates, Shah & Kevin, performed at Mardigras bar, and its my second time going there. This time it was only for acoustics.
As usual, the sound guy came late, they only started the sound check at 9 and the show is supposedly start at 9.30. No matter, i chilled at OU first, walk around, looking for my winter boots, cause im going to Korea at the end of this year. Then i meet up with my friends at Mardigras and we sat down and chill.
Apparently we were all tired that night so some of us look dead and pale, cause most of us had a shooting at college. I didnt feel like going at first, but since the next day was a public holiday (Raya Korban), i figiured i should let loose. Shah & Kevin was the 3rd to perform, and i have to be honest the band who performed before them was fucking boring. Shah's & Kevin's performance was ok, i think it would be could if the drummer was there.
After they performed, they left immediately because of a cerfuew, so i stayed there for a while. Then i remembered Liyana telling me that she was going to MOS that night, so i ring her and asked if i could join, she said yes. So i went to MOS, but sadly i couldn't get in for free so i had to pay RM40 for the cover charge.
I met some old friends at MOS, Irwan (King) and Jack, and they were celebrating their graduation. MOS was jammed packed that night and i couldn't even find a space to dance so i just chilled most of the time. If i wasn't tired, i would probably enjoy a 100%, but what to do i didnt plan on coming at first.

JOKES, funny, stupid, dirty, etc.

BAR JOKE:
A guy came into a bar one day and said to the bartender, “Give me six double vodka.”
The barman says, “Wow! you must have had very bad day.”
“Yes, I’ve just found out my older brother is gay.”

The next day the same guy came into the bar and asked for the same drinks.
When the bartender asked what the problem was today the answer came back, “I’ve just found out that my younger brother is gay too!”

On the third day the guy came into the bar and ordered another six double vodkas.
The bartender said, “What the hell? Doesn’t anybody in your family like women?”

“Yes, my wife…”

WORST DAY:

There was this guy at a bar, just looking at his drink. He stays like that for half of an hour.

Then, this big trouble-making guy steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, “Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I’ll buy you another drink. I just can’t stand to see a man cry.”

“Today is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outrageous, fires me. When I leave the building, to my car, I found out it was stolen. I get a cab to return home, and when I get out of the cab, I forgot my wallet, cash and credit cards in the there. The cab driver just drives away.”

“When I get home, I find my wife in bed with the gardener. I leave home, and come to this bar. And just when I was thinking about putting an end to my life, you show up and drink my poison.”

BLACK EYES:

A man came to work on Monday morning with two black eyes. His boss asked what happened.

The man replied, “On Sunday, I was sitting behind a big woman at church. When we stood up to sing hymns, I noticed that her dress was caught in her butt crack, so I was trying to be nice and I pulled it out for her. Then, she turned around and punched me in the eye.”

The boss asked, “Okay, so where did you get the other shiner?”

“Well,” the man said, “I figured she didn’t want it out, so I pushed it back in.”

Joke Of The Day!!

There are 3 bestfriends, Bu, Chu and Fu and all of them are from China. They've decided to go on a holiday to America and they've decided to change their names to sound more American. Bu changed his name to Buck, Chu changed his name to Cuck and Fu got sent back to China!!!

Farewell My seniors!!

3rd November 2009, was the last day, the last moments and the last curtain call for the Graduating batch of March 2007 in the diploma of performing arts. The Roof Top Theatre of sunway college was the venue for their last gig before they part ways. Reuben, Khaz, Roger, Ping, June, Alou, Howard and Aaron performed their last show for us. It was the best performance ever, it was hilarious, spontaneous and very entertaining to watch. The audience were hypnotized and couldn't take their eyes of the performances. It was something to remember them by. Syok Sendiri, was the name of the show and i tell you, it was a whole lot of syok.
A combination of various exercises that they learnt were put together to produce a marvelous show, an imrov acting  with some volunteers from the audience which makes them closer to the show, imitations of the lecturers made me laugh my ass off, a short joke every 10 minute from roger keeps us warmed up, Khaz's monologue got the ladies' amusement, and Howard's dancing made us wanna move.
The show lasted for 2 hours, but it didnt feel like 2 hours, it felt like an hour, and we wanted more from them when it ended. They finish off by doing a trade mark 'signing the attendece' which symbolizes their final dot in this course. It was a very memorable moment, and even though it was only for 2.5 years, but i feel that they have known each other for a long time, i feel that i had known them for more than a year.
Different feelings and emotions starts to flow out when the show ended. I went up to all of them and gave them a hug, and wish them luck for their future. Some of my friends were in tears, some were proud and sad for them, and it was a sad moment but i couldn't  cry. All in all, me and my friends, and the March 08 batch will miss u guys. God luck and farewell March 07, and thanks for the great show!!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Department Of Performance & Media (DPM) Video Shoot

This weekend was the most busiest weekend for me and my fellow classmates in the DPM. We had a corporate video shoot for our department, and the purpose of this shoot is to promote the department to the public, and hopefully to attract people to join this course. The shoot was directed by Imri, one of our lecturers and he brought along his crew and equipments. The 'Host' for the video is Shah & Liyana, they of all people had pages of lines, so they are probably the most tiring person right now.
The first day was on the 24th (saturday) and the shoot started as early as 8 am, and they had a green screen set up outside the Roof Top Theatre (RTT) which was for a montage or something. It was really cool to see all the equipments live. The set up took quite sometime because they had to position the screen and the camera and microphone. Later during the day, we had some shots in the computer room, and the office. I had a small role with lines, and this shot took quite sometime because of the lighting adjustments. Then i was just an ensemble cast for the rest of the scene. The shoot didn't turn out like what i expected,  it was really smooth with little mistakes. I thought temperatures was gonna boil.
The 2nd was on the 25th (sunday) and as usual we got up as early as 8 a.m to get ready in our costumes and make ups, while the crew were setting up the set. We were lucky today because we are ahead of schedule, a scene that was suppose to be shot today was already shot the day before, but nonetheless time is gold, none of us wasted anytime to shoot, we were all on standby for our respective scenes one hour before.
The 2nd day of shoot was more cheerful because we had a dancing scene, which is the first and last scene in the video. This shoot, took up more than an hour not just to shoot but to coordinate the moves to fit in front of the camera. Dalili the dance coordinator had a tough time sorting it out but in the end the scene went well and everyone was happy.
We also had a scene inside the RTT where we are showing how a play is done and how the actors prepare for a play i.e warm ups and rehearsals. This shoot didn't take long, and i think its the easiest shot of all. After all this is done, hopefully the video will turn out great and more people would be interested in joining this course. Ill post the video as soon as its ready.

Perbezaan DVD Original & Cetak Rompak

1. Pelekat No Siri (Silver) KPDNKKWalaupun DVD Cetak Rompak counterfeit ini masih mempunyai pelekat no siri yang dikeluarkan oleh KPNDKK, tetapi sebenarnya pelekat yang digunakan sebenarnya tidak sah. Filem Geng menggunakan no siri yang bermula dengan huruf K, manakala counterfeit ini menggunakan no siri bermula dengan huruf H. Mengikut kajian, no siri ini sebenarnya merupakan pendaftaran untuk filem Hindi yang sepatutnya digunakan pada tahun 2005 dulu.

2. Sijil B (Cert B)

Treatment Story (Class Assignment)

Susan Van Wilder just had a rough day at the office and she feels that she needs to loosen up and have fun. So she decides to go to this new club called 4 seasons and it was free flow for ladies. She invited her friend Megan. When Susan arrived at the club, she got a text from Megan; saying that she couldn’t make it, but that didn’t stop her from entering the club. Then Susan hooks up with a guy name Peter Atkinson in the club. After a glass of vodka, both of them go to the dance floor and started to do the ‘monkey dance’. Everyone was staring at them but they didn’t care. Then Susan started to seduce Peter by doing the robot dance. He wasn’t turned on at first but after she did the ‘robot twirl’ he was drooling. Then Peter took off his shirt because he was feeling ‘hot’. Then both of them took a break from dancing, Susan goes back to the bar while Peter goes to the toilet, shirtless. In the toilet, Peter takes out a bottle of his ‘magic’ oil and rubs the oil on to his ‘deadly weapon’. After that that he exits the toilet only to see Susan leaving. He took a big sip of his vodka and tries to catch Susan. Suddenly it was all blacked out. The next thing he knew was that his hands were handcuffed and sees everyone leaving the club. He also saw his friends and a few other people were getting arrested. It turns out that Peter Atkinson is drug pusher and he has been off the radar for 3 months. Finally, he was apprehended and the Chief of police who was conducting this mission was Susan Van Wilder. The moment Peter took off his shirt is the moment that Susan knew he was the drug lord because of is revealing tattoos on his left arm, a cross surrounded by flowers. Then she made the call when he went to the toilet.

To All Drivers, BEWARE!!!

Today was the most tiring and weirdest day of my life. Firstly, i had class as usual from 11-1 and 2-5. After that, i went straight to the football field and kicked some balls. Then tonight is Luciano's 2nd party. He is my aerobics' instructor fyi and i was suppose to go with 2 of my friends, but it turns out that one of them told the other that i wasn't going, and so none of us went.
So i callled my college friend Shasha and asked her if she wanted to hang out, and she said yes, along with my classmate Ernest. So i met them at the Rock Cafe CC (Nearby sunway college) and surprisingly my other seniors were also there. So played Left 4 dead for a while. Then Ernest and Shasha went back to their condo to freshen up so i stayed at the CC for a while.
After i finished the game, i waited for them outside the condo, for around 30 minutes or so. I took of my seat belt and turned of my light for a while. Then they came down and we decided to go Canai @ 15. So i started to drive and not even half way there, a police car stopped me and told me to pull out by the side. Then one of the cops ordered me to come out of the car.

The Conversations were all translated:
Cop 1: Do you know what you've done wrong?
Me: Uuh, No sir i dont.
Cop 1: Well its not only 1 but 2 offences. Firstly u did not wear ur seat belt, and secondly u didnt turn on ur lights.
Me: Oh yeah, sorry i tottally forgot about it, im sorry sir.
Cop 2: Let me see ur license and registrations please.
Then i took out my licenses, i was quite shaky and nervous.
Cop2: see, you are still on a P license, didnt u learn anything in the academy?
Me: Yes sir i did, and this was a carless mistake sir, im sorry.
Cop 1: If i give u a summon ticket, your license will be stripped.
Me: oh no, im sorry, i didnt mean to do it, please i promise i wont do ot again.
Then there was a long pause, the second cop was writing down my details on a sheet of paper.
Cop 2: Where are you going?
Me: Oh im just going to ss15 for a dinner.
Cop 2: Are sure? Your not going to get drunk later?
Then i just shook my head and kept quiet.
Cop 1: Your P License is expiring in 2 years time, do you want me to give you a summon??
And then i thought to myself, was this a trick question??
Me: Ummm, i would prefer not. ( Then i started to bullshit him) Cause just now i had some problems with my friends in class, i quarreled with them and now im not really in a good mood, so everything is kinda affected. ( its was all bullshit)
Cop 1: Go ask that man ( he reffers to the 2nd cop)
Me: So sir, whats gonna happen now??
Cop 2: Well im gonna charge u with those 2 offenses.
Me: Oh please sir, give me a chance, i promise i wont do it again.
Then there was another long silent. He stared at me for a while, then he gave me back my license, and both of them drove off without giving any ticket or warning.

I was relieved  when they let me go cause my heart was pumping as though i was running 100 meter. This is i life lesson to all u drivers out there, no matter who you are, what car your driving, what license are you holding, please obey the rules and regulations, cause the authorities are there for a reason.
